<aside> 🟡 About Mercado Libre

Mercado Libre hosts the largest online commerce and payments ecosystem in Latin America. We are present in 18 countries including: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. Mercado Pago is part of the ecosystem and it provides a digital wallet for users, together with different value props like getting a loan, paying utility bills, transferring money between friends, and more.

The project in a nutshell

• Thanks to my experience in UX Writing with gender inclusivity, I was asked to participate in the creation of a special section in Mercado Pago’s Style Guide to include best practices for writing without sexism.

Inclusive language

Part of my guide included tips to write with inclusivity without resorting to the 3 most popular techniques in Argentinean Spanish (inclusive “e”, the @ sign or the “x”).

I tried to make the guidelines easy to read and scan. Plus, I included examples so it would be easier to understand how to apply them.
